MAN SE

Our most powerful diesel has over 100,000 hp.

And still, it’s not the main thing propelling us.

You would imagine that the engineers at MAN Diesel could take a breather. After all, about half of the ships crossing the world’s oceans are powered by MAN, and the world’s first 100,000 hp engine was produced by MAN, too. On top of that, our order books are full – thanks in part to the recent upswing in global trade. But they won’t.

Because our engineers are committed to improving technology and relentlessly maintaining our reputation as the market leader, they continually strive for perfection by working better and faster. What propels us? Engineering the future.

For example, marine propulsion systems like MAN’s Common Rail or electronically controlled ME-Marine Diesels, which consume less fuel, produce less emissions and, at the same time, are more powerful and easier to maintain. Through design of Dual Fuel engines, which during operation can switch from liquid fuel to natural gas, thereby taking full advantage of the most economically efficient fuel. Or with our new PGI low-maintenance and spark plug free gas-powered engines, which generate efficient and clean energy for power stations while keeping the environmental impact to a minimum. The list goes on.

These, and many other groundbreaking technological developments are excellent examples of the MAN Group’s innovative power. The power of our engineer’s ideas is reflected in the best solutions designed for transport, propulsion and energy.
